The Anniversary Patch for "Diablo 3" dubbed the "Darkening of Tristram" was recently released and it gathered both positive and negative reviews from players. Some claimed that it was a disappointing addition while others liked the update for the game.
Mixed reviews
Some of those who gave the "Diablo 3" Anniversary Patch a try claimed that the design of the patch was really hard to understand and that the progress and difficulty even made the game sort of boring. Forbes' Paul Tassi explained that there was not much change for the game but only minor improvements.
"All of the environments are existing D3 tilesets, just given a pixelated makeover, which you almost forget is there after a few minutes," Tassi added. He suggested that the patch should have introduced new characters and enemies so more gamers will be excited to play it.
'Disappointing' experience
Similarly, another review of the "Diablo 3" Anniversary Update said that it was a disappointing experience especially that Blizzard announced it like one of the biggest things coming to the Diablo franchise. It also highlighted that the weapons were also not good just like the character lineup.
The good side
On the other hand, some fans and players of the game claimed that the Anniversary Patch for "Diablo 3" was a treat for all fans and players of the game. Some environment changes like the fields and a new dungeon were praised by those playing the game.
Another notable part of the update is the 2D technology which makes thing appear like they are moving. This improves the gaming experience of "Diablo 3" players.
However, even with the new updates introduced by the "Diablo 3" Anniversary Patch, players are still clamoring for innovations in the game. Many are already getting used to the usual sights in the game like skeletons, corpses and bones.
