"Power Rangers" reboot film makers have slowly started to give the franchise's fans more details to get by. Although the main theme of the film is retained, it is expected that the upcoming remake will have several plot twists.
The Wrap had recently revealed that the Putty Patrollers will have vital role in the upcoming film. The Putties will act as Rita Repulsa's goons who will assist her in her evil schemes. The report revealed a certain scene wherein Repulsa, played by Elizabeth Banks, will try to steal gold bullions from a Russian bank.
Becky G, who portrays the role of Yellow Ranger Trini, spoke with Entertainment Weekly and revealed that she will be in between Repulsa's crosshairs. As part of the villainess' attempt to take down all of the Power Rangers, she corners Trini and pins her to the wall.
"Rita tries to make Trini feel like she is the weakest link of the Power Rangers," Becky G revealed. "She feels it is easiest to go for her."
Becky G also confirmed that the "Power Rangers" reboot will be participating in this year's Comic Con event. It is worth noting, however, that the upcoming film also got a lot of attention in this year's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The said event might not be movie-centric, but several movie tie-ins were announced.
As reported by Movie Web, Lionsgate had just revealed that the "Power Rangers" reboot will be available in virtual reality - which happens to be a rising trend in today's tech industry. Photos of the VR experience can be seen on the website and the images reveal the new look of the Zords, the Alpha 5 character that Bill Hader lent his voice to.
Aside from Alpha 5, the official look of Repulsa's foot soldiers have also been revealed in a toy form. As can be noticed on the marketing material for these toys, their "made from clay" origin was emphasized.
