At last year's Google I/O, the search giant announced that it would officially extend Google Play support to a slew of Chrome OS devices. This move opened a whole new avenue to what the Chrome OS machines had to offer, especially since it significantly lacked application availability at the time.
At CES 2017, the South Korean tech firm has announced that it would be working together with Google in order to introduce the succeeding generations of Chromebook, designed especially bearing Google Play application support in mind. 9To5Google was able to lay hold of Samsung's latest Chromebook option i.e. the Samsung Chromebook Plus and the Samsung Chromebook Pro.

According to the publication, the Samsung Chromebook Pro & Plus are premium Chromebook convertibles boasts an array of more powerful specs than a regular Intel Celeron powered machine. An unidentified ARM-based chipset fires up the Chromebook Plus, but the website suggests this could either be an Exynos chipset or one from Rockchip, the last-mentioned being the most likely citing mounting shreds of evidence.
Although the Samsung Chromebook Plus and the Samsung Chromebook Pro has a laptop form factor, it features a 360-degree hinge allowing the Chromebooks to be rotated and used as a tablet, which is perfect for accessing Android applications.
The devices sport a 12.3″ Quad HD 2400×1600 display coupled with a 3:2 aspect ratio and 234 PPI, according to GSM Arena. In addition, it features a Gorilla Glass 3 that provides added protection for the display.
Both, Samsung Chromebook Plus and the Samsung Chromebook Pro will pack 4GBs of RAM, 32GBs of internal storage and will support 4K video output via either of the two two USB Type-C ports available on the device. The flexibility of the new Chromebooks could be the devices' selling point.
It offers a full-size keyboard paired with a trackpad to facilitate normal Chrome OS functionality. With the help of the 360-degree hinge and the touchscreen capabilities, users can transform the device into a tablet, or even use it in a tent or stand mode.
Aside from that, the Chromebooks will come with a built-in stylus that is embedded on the side of the device to enable easy access. The pen features a 0.7mm tip and pressure sensitivity which open doors for drawing and note taking capabilities.
