The "Honor" series from Huawei got a very good response in the US in 2016. The smartphone maker released its first few devices including the premium Honor 8 with dual cameras. Notably, both the cameras have 12-MP sensors, one for monochrome and the other for RGB. Photos taken from the cameras are prepared simultaneously.

Huawei is bringing another dual-camera phone in the Honor series to the US, the Honor 6x. Honor executives said that the phone was created with filters as an inspiration, specifically for young people-18 to 25 years old. Though that might imply that its cameras are not of that high quality as the Honor 8.

The Honor X6 has one rear-facing camera with a 12-MP sensor, while the other has 2-MP only. The company executives mentioned that though the high-end Honor 8 captures better pictures, the new 6X is better for filters due to its aperture simulation for wide aperture mode that makes the subject stand out. Though the 6X's camera is inferior in quality as compared to Honor 8, it's not that costly. The Honor 8 pricing starts at $400, while the Honor 6X will cost $250.00

The Honor 6X is loaded with other specs such as a 32GB internal storage with expandable storage option, a 3GB RAM, Android Marshmallow with support for Android N for its 2017 release, 8 megapixel front camera, a 5.5-inch Full HD screen, Huawei Kirin 644 octa-core processor, 3340 mAh battery, and a micro USB port. The phone is available in three colors; gray, gold, silver.

The processor included is Huawei's middle-of-the-road processor, and it'll be first used on the 6X for the US release. The handset has been released in the US, the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Iraq on January 4, 2017.
