2017 is opening up the market for affordable gaming laptops. Nvidia has unveiled a new GTX 1050 processor that will enable laptop manufacturers to cut their prices. Somehow, Dell is already on top with their upgraded Inspiron 14 and 15 7000 series.
The new Nvidia GPU's will offer a huge upgrade to Dell's previous laptops. Most laptops are equipped with a scaled-down GPU model from either Nvidia and AMD.
The unaltered 1070, 1060 and 1050 GPU's will offer better performance from the previous cards. The Inspiron 14 and 15 7000 series last year were both bundled with Nvidia's GeForce 960M.
The 2016 version for both the Inspiron 14 and 15 7000 series was capable of any game. That includes "Fallout 4," "Grand Theft Auto V" and "The Witcher 3."
Nvidia's GTX 1050 processor will greatly improve the Inspiron's gaming performance. For budget conscious gamers that are okay with low to medium settings, Dell's new laptops will be a guaranteed hit.
Both of Dell's 7000 series laptops will each have a seventh gen Core i5 7300HQ or Core i7 7700HQ quad-core processor. The 15-inch model will have a better specs than the smaller screened Inspiron.
Dell will equip the Inspiron 15 7000 with a 512GB PCIe SSD storage and GTX 1050 Ti GPU. It will also sport a 74 watt-hour battery. The Inspiron 14 only comes with a 1080p anti-glare LCD.
Because the laptops were based on last year's chassis, both the new Inspiron 14 and 15 will not have USB-C port. Dell will be selling the laptops starting at $799. That's $100 cheaper than Lenovo's Legion Gaming Laptop that has a USB-C port.
Lenovo announced that they will be selling the Legion laptops for a $899.99 base price. Gamers that have extra cash can always opt for Dell's Alienware series. Dell has also recently unveiled their XPS 13 hybrid laptop, the laptop has a 2-in-1 function that enables it to work like a tablet computer.
