After just releasing Vivo V5 in November 2016, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer Vivo, has announced a variant, the Vivo V5 Plus that will sport a dual front-facing camera, according to a report by Android Authority. The Vivo V5 Plus is expected to be launched in India on Jan. 23, 2017 as the company has started to send out press invitations for the event.

The Vivo V5 Plus will be expected to be an improved version of the V5, although not by much, considering the latter was only released just more than a month ago.

The obvious selling point of V5 Plus would be its dual front-facing camera. However, the smartphone that pioneered the dual front cameras was the Lenovo Vibe S1 that was launched back in November 2015, according to a report by GSM Arena.

The Vivo V5, which was sold for $264 in India, was launched in November 2016 as a mid-range smartphone that featured a 5.5-inch HD display, 1.5 GHz octa-core processor, 3,000mAh battery and 4 GB of RAM that competed with Gionee S6 and the Oppo F1. It also has a decent camera with 13 PM rear and 20 PM front-facing camera.

The company may have focused their product to be more of a selfie device as it goes to great lengths to deliver a high quality camera on the Vivo 5 as it also sports a front-facing flash where the LED light illuminates the face of the user for a selfie if there is low light . It is not yet confirmed though, if the upcoming V5 Plus would be an improvement.

The launch is only a few days away so there's not much any waiting time for the release of the new variant. What do you think of the new Vivo V5 Plus? Share your thoughts down below. You can also subscribe to our newsletter so you may receive the latest news and updates.
