ABC's latest legal thriller drama "Conviction" starring Hayley Atwell may not have done spectacularly well, but that does not stop the show from creating a buzz in the audience and the fans. Episode 10 of the series was aired on January 1 and featured the coming together of title characters Hayes and Conner, in the light of the sad execution of an innocent death row inmate. The series got a new time slot on Sunday nights and may not get a comeback season. Hayley's Hayes, a brilliant and classy attorney, probably lost her remaining faith in the justice system.
This event is what probably made her take up the case of a rape victim serving a life sentence for murdering her alleged rapist. To remind the readers, the show follows Hayes heading an investigation unit "CIU" which tries to review and overturn wrongful convictions. Her team second guesses her intentions and motivations behind taking a case which seems bulletproof. Does Hayes have something in mind or is she losing her mind? Needless to say, the episode titled "Not Okay" follows the rape stigma very effectively and covers all victims in a well-rounded manner.
The next episode ahead in the series, "The Black Orchid Killer" will be aired in the upcoming week on January 8. The official trailer is out now:
The case will feature a highly infamous case and a dangerous killer with a special twist: the person who seems to be the killer is behind the bars already! Was the convicted person actually innocent? One can imagine the twists and turns the soon to come episode has in store for them by reading this official synopsis:
"While Hayes and Wallace struggle to balance their professional and personal lives, they are summoned to a crime scene that fits the M.O. of the infamous "Black Orchid Killer." Is the latest murder the work of a copycat? Or is the man now in prison for the earlier crimes actually innocent? As the investigation accelerates, the CIU team, spearheaded by unlikely serial-killer expert Tess, closes in on a suspect who may have committed all the murders - but will it be too late?"
ABC's "Conviction" may not make a comeback but it will not go out on a lacklustre note. For more updates and news, keep watching MobileNApps!
