Thanks to Toonami, DBS's huge fanbase were recently treated to an extended first-look of the English dub version of "Dragon Ball Super" that showcased a minute long preview of the hit Japanese anime's first saga.

"Dragon Ball Super" is slated to debut in the U.S. on Toonami on January 7, 2017, and is said to unveil the English dub of the hit anime television series via Funimation. The trailer that urges viewers to get ready for "Dragon Ball Super" centers on Lord Beerus alongside the cast of characters that avid "DBS" fans are well acquainted with. Aside from Beerus, the video footage showed familiar characters including Goku, Goten, Mr. Boo, Mr. Satan, Piccolo, Trunks, King Kai and Vegeta, according to ComicBook.

Bearing in mind that the ongoing "Dragon Ball Super" in Japan is currently showing its episode number 71, it is predicted that it would take about a year for the recently debuted version to belly up to the ongoing series.

Renowned voice actors are likely to lend their voices for Goku and rest of his gang, and if some recently surfaced reports are anything to go by, voice actors for "Dragon Ball Z" have been roped in for the job. While these highly-skilled voice actors will keep the ball rolling for "Dragon Ball Super" in Toonami, Japanese actors will continue to lend their voice for the ongoing Japanese anime. Notably, "Dragon Ball Super" marked the first new storyline from another hit Japanese anime television series, "Dragon Ball Z" in over 18 years, according to a report on TV Series Finale.

While Toonami continues gearing up for "Dragon Ball Super's" English dubbed version, the ongoing Japanese version, on the other hand, is approaching a new arc. The 'Tournament of Power' is scheduled to commence in February and it centers on a martial arts tournament between various universes. The new chapter is called the "Universe Survival Arc" and will feature Goku and Universe 7 warriors as they square off against various teams hailing from different universes.

The English dubbed version of "Dragon Ball Super" will air on Jan. 7, 2017 at 8 p.m. on Toonami with a replay at 11:30 p.m.
