PlayStation has three types to choose from namely the original PS4, PS4 Slim, and PS4 Pro. These consoles are almost similar but each has its unique feature that will make it stand out from the other. It might be a little hard to figure out at first but potential buyers can use this before they head to the stores.

Basically, what makes PlayStation 4 Slim unique compared to the other two is its physical appearance. Obviously, this one is living up to its name, thus it is slimmer. It weighs about 4.6lbs, while the original PS4 is about 6.2 lbs, and PS4 Pro is 7.3 lbs.

The development of the gaming consoles have resulted in particular designs, however, it is clear that it came from the original concept used in PS4. Despite the dissimilarities, all three maintained the Blu-ray optical drives with an additional of USB 3.1 for the PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro. Another difference is that PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro it has enhanced WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity compared to its predecessor. (via Forbes)

Performance wise, Fobes shared how the PS4 Slim tried to retain the same performance while having a thinner and lighter size. On the other hand, PS4 Pro has the largest processor (CPU 2.1 GHz 8-coreAMD Jaguar) while the two has the same 1.6GHz 8-core AMD Jaguar for its CPU. PS4 Pro also houses the largest storage as it has 8GB GDDR5 + 1GB RAM.

Meanwhile, Android Central shared that despite the minimal differences, the features, and performances of each console are differentiated if the user plays it on a 4K television with HDR support. This means that there's only a slight difference and this can be well seen using a high-tech television. Furthermore, the consoles will receive the same library of games and Sony has no plans of launching any exclusives for PS4 Pro users.

Overall, Sony's gaming consoles have little to no difference and it all lies in the potential buyer's discretion about which console would work best. Still, knowing the differences is a big help to end up with the PlayStation that would perfectly fit what the buyer prefers.
