Google Nexus tablet has received much-spotlight in past few months. If the latest report hitting blogosphere today are to be believed, then Google will unveil that tablet by the end of this month, possibly during its I/O conference in San Francisco.
Citing anonymous Asus representative, Android Authority said that Google will launch the much-rumored Nexus tablet by the end of June. The tech site claimed to have received information from an Asus representative during the Computex conference in Taipei. Computex 2012 took place at Asus's soil where the Taiwanese semiconductor giant revealed nearly a dozen Windows 8 powered devices. The representative didn't provide any further information about the device but said that "it [Nexus tablet] will be awesome." The publication also claimed that the tablet is likely to be priced in $150-$250 range.
Google Nexus tablet has been in news for a while. Last week, folks at PhoneArena posted images last week of what they claim to be press draft images for Google Nexus tablet. The much-hyped tablet was also spotted in server logs last month. Benchmarking Web site Rightware listed the device as Nexus 7, where "7" refers to 7-inch screen size. The Nexus 7 tablet has a display resolution of 1,280 x 768 pixels. The tablet is loaded with quad-core Tegra 3 processor clocked at 1.3 GHz with Nvidia ULP GeForce graphics card. Reportedly the tablet runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) OS.
The Asus insider, who wished to remain anonymous, also revealed that some other Asus-made products are landing in U.S. this month including Asus Padfone and Asus Transformer Pad Infinity tablet. The Pad Infinity will come in both Wi-Fi and LTE models, while the unlocked version of Asus Padfone is already up for sale in U.S. Reportedly AT&T will release both these devices in the market. The publication also quoted "$499" price tag for the Transformer Pad Infinity, but didn't indicate whether the price is associated with Wi-Fi version or LTE version.
