This Christmas, get to enjoy the antics of a cute, fuzzy little rodent in a spacesuit as he explores the limits of the universe, final frontier-style.

Game Troopers has just released their new Xbox-enabled game, Hamster Universe, for Windows 10. The trailer alone already suggests that it's going to be relaxed gameplay, perfect for killing time without stressing out. According to Windows Central, the game's main focus is keeping your hamster character and letting him run in a hamster wheel that generates energy, the main commodity of the game, which enables him to do different activities and purchase different equipment upgrades.

There are also minor milestones such as collecting boxes and higher equipment upgrades, which enable your hamster to produce more energy much faster. There's even a handy counter above the wheel, letting you know how much energy is being generated per second. MS Power User mentions that Hamster Universe supports Xbox Live as well, so right here is a fairly easy opportunity to get achievements. The incremental gameplay and main interface is very user-friendly --- no fuss, no muss, and no complex puzzles or tricky enemies. Just you, your hamster, his window, and his wheel.

In Hamster Universe, you also have the option to fully customize your hamster character and his surroundings. Outfits, expressions, hamster items (think fancy feeding bowls and adorable tiny hamster socks), and more are unlockable the higher you go. When not running, you have the option to "explore the universe" as well, via your critter's bay window.

Hamster Universe is free to play, but also has a fair amount of options and items available for in-app purchases. If you like the game enough, you may pay your way through it. If you're simply looking for a light-hearted way to pass time and you don't mind watching an adorable cartoon hamster run endlessly in a wheel, Hamster Universe is available for download from the Windows store now.
