Since Apple released its new iOS 10.2 update, the company has stopped signing for its earlier versions which includes iOS 10.1 and iOS 10.1.1. This means that Apple gadget users, once upgraded to iOS 10.2, won't be able to downgrade their OS anymore, as stated in a post in GSM Arena.
Apple followers will surely be affected by this stoppage. Meanwhile, there are reasons why Apple will stop signing this software. One of the reasons why the company came up with this is for their customers stay up to date in their Apple gadgets' software update. Another thing is that Apple doesn't want its users being unprotected in terms of security issues. That is why some of its new version's feature include stricter security settings. Furthermore, iOS 10.2 is the only one that can be installed in iOS devices in iOS 10 version. So, once your device has installed the new update, you cannot back off anymore even if you have some issues or problems in the latest version.
The new update made various changes in the software that will surely be a hit to Apple customers. More than 100 emojis are installed to make typing and texting more interesting. Fancy new wallpapers are also installed. Additional iMessage screen effects are established and reorganized. Emergency SOS feature has changed and improved as well as the Music Player and Camera App. One major feature in this iOS 10.2 is its all-new TV App. In line with this, the company also stopped its signing of tvOS 10.0.1 for the fourth-generation Apple TV.
What's great about this is that the company rapidly looks forward by releasing iOS 10.2.1 as future upgrade. Though, this software is still under its second beta testing phase, according to an article in Mac Rumors. iOS 10.2.1. includes bug fixes and some improvements in the software performance.
Apple's iOS 10.2 has just released last December 12.
