The CW Television Network recently released the official trailer for the mid-season return of the series "Supergirl." The trailer shows that Kara finds herself under a red sun for the very first time.

CW TV Network might have the most thrilling superhero TV shows among other networks, with shows like "The Flash" and "Legends of Tomorrow." Tweets and posts of avid fans expressing their thrilled excitement over these TV shows have reached various social media platforms. But when the series "Supergirl" was launched this year, viewers discovered that Superman is not the only Kryptonian who could have its own hit series.

"Supergirl" the series is a story of a girl named Kara Zor-El who appears to be an older cousin of the man of steel, Clark Kent or also known as Superman. From their planet Krypton where she lived, Kara was sent to Earth to look over Clark. Due to unfortunate events, her spacecraft was greatly affected by a shock wave caused by the explosion of their planet. When she arrived on Earth, Kara is surprised to learn Clark is no longer an infant as what she expected him to be.

Currently, the series is on its second season but it's having its mid-season break. The recently concluded first half of the season showed how the Project Cadmus released and spread a certain virus that is capable of killing aliens nearby. Kara now had Lena Luthor as her new ally in "Supergirl."

So what happens next on the future episodes?

The recently launched trailer displays a very controversial and mysterious scene in "Supergirl" where Kara is under a red sun. An avid viewer of the series would know that being on a planet with a red sun will weaken or at the very least prohibit Supergirl to use her superpowers.

The cast of the series includes Mellissa Benoist as Supergirl, Mehcad Brooks as Jimmy Olsen, Chyler Leigh as Alex Danvers, and Jeremy Jordan as Winn Schott. Also part of the cast are David Harewood, Chris Wood and Floriana Lima. The mid-season return is on January 23, 2017.
