IPhone 8 rumor threads have already been filled with numerous speculations as to what features will the next gen IPhones have. With the 10th anniversary of IPhone inching closer, pundits are getting more and more excited as to what Apple will offer in its next IPhones.

Apple may unveil another innovation in its IPhone flagship that will create more buzz than that created in its removal of the IPhone 7 headphone jack and the introduction of IPhone Airpods combined. One of the more controversial claims is that the Cupertino based company might unveil a dual sim IPhone in the conceivable future.

Looking at the current route that the tech and gadget company is taking now, the speculation that Apple is cooking a dual sim IPhone may sound counterintuitive. The addition of another port for a second sim card will run counter with Apple's attempt to remove ports to come up with a thinner IPhone and to introduce a waterproof IPhone. However, recent rumblings within the company and the recent Patent granted to Apple suggests otherwise.

The recent patent granted to Apple describes an apparatus, method or system to control access to numerous antennas in mobile devices with multiple SIMs. The new patent granted to Apple seem to suggest that not only is the tech giant interested in exploring dual sim IPhones but it believes that the new technology may be used to handle current and new communication standards. The dual sim IPhone may also be the fruition of Apple's acknowledgment of its users need to have separate numbers for personal and business use.

With its rivals creeping closer, Apple is ready to throw haymakers to its closest competitors in the smartphone wars. LG's flagship smartphone came close to edging both the Apple IPhone 7 and Samsung Galaxy line, Microsoft's Surface phone is also lurking not far behind.
