Microsoft is set to challenge the top dogs of the smartphone industry as it sets to unveil its Surface phone. Apple's IPhone and the Galaxy line from Samsung has long been dominating the realm of mobile phones, but tech giant Microsoft has set its eyes to break the status quo and put its Surface phone on the pinnacle of mobile phones.

Tech giant Microsoft has been eyeing the smartphones' throne for quite some time. Although the path it took to dominate the smartphone war is riddled with failures, the Surface phone may just be the weapon it needs to destroy its competition. The Surface phone from Microsoft is said to push the boundaries of mobile phones as it further blurs the dividing line between mobile devices and personal computers. Microsoft is set to take a route that no other tech companies have succeeded before, that is to accept peripherals that are built for personal computers.

The Microsoft Surface phone features will include a feature called the Continuum which will allow its users to transform the mobile phone into a personal computer. The Continuum will also allow users to connect PC peripherals like a mouse and a keyboard to their Microsoft phone. With the use of Continuum, users can use their device as if they are using a Windows 10 computer.

Also, the rumored full metal body of the Microsoft smartphone is sure to be as slick if not more visually appealing compared to Apple's IPhone or Samsung's Galaxy.

2017 just got more exciting with the announcement of the Microsoft Surface Phone. With the expected release date of IPhone 8 in September of 2017, the battle of smartphone supremacy may be fought between the IPhone 8 vs Microsoft Surface Phone. It is now up to Samsung to up its game to remain relevant in the top smartphone industry.
