After a long delay at US Customs, the supplies of HTC EVO 4G LTE and HTC One X are returning back to normal as custom officials have released the shipments of the HTC smartphones.

Earlier this month, the two smartphones were held up by US Customs, which were ordered to check each model and approve their release after ITC announced an import ban on certain HTC smartphones due to unresolved patent infringement dispute with Apple. HTC release a note on Wednesday, May 30, saying that HTC smartphones have been released by custom officials after completing the review process.

"HTC has completed the review process with US Customs and HTC devices have been released, as they are in compliance with the ITC's ruling. Future shipments should continue to enter the US and we are confident that we will soon be able to meet the demand for our products," wrote HTC in a statement on its investor's website.

International Trade Commission (ITC) officials found HTC violated a so-called "data tampering" patent held by Apple. The disputed technology allows a smartphone to recognize information like phone number, e-mail address and home address within text and copy the highlighted data to other apps like dialer, calendar or mapping app. HTC was given time up to April 19 to remove the disputed feature from its smartphones. The ban came to light on May 15.

The shipments of HTC smartphones were held at customs for 2-3 weeks this month. HTC revealed during the past week that certain HTC smartphones were given a green go by US Customs, but the company didn't named the smartphones. Apparently, the Taiwanese mobile major was talking about HTC EVO 4G LTE, which managed to get clearance a little sooner and has hit Sprint stores on May 24. However, the One X is still out of stock at AT&T, but is expected to arrive very soon.

HTC EVO 4G LTE and HTC One X are identical in both hardware specs and software offerings. Apparently, both the smartphones run the same ROM under different names. The sole difference between the two high-end HTC smartphones is microSD card slot that is featured in the EVO 4G LTE also. HTC One X does not offer expandable memory options.
