As one of the most popular first-person shooter games to make a mark in its niche market, Call of Duty has come a pretty long way. Originally available as a PC game on Microsoft Windows, it was made available for handheld gaming stations and consoles with Call of Duty: Finest Hour as its first console title released back in 2004.
It's not uncommon for gaming companies to do something huge when releasing new games under an already established franchise; that includes launch discounts or pre-order benefits-slash-exclusives. For COD gamers out there, whether long-term loyal players or newly-introduced fanatics, the latest title in the franchise --- Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare --- is now celebrating post-launch with a bang.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will now be free-to-play on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The catch? Just some content restrictions and that's about it. For five whole days, you will get free access to the first two story missions, campaign mode, multiplayer mode (capped at level 15), and even Zombie mode (capped at level 3).
This free trial also means several things for different people. For Call of Duty fans who have been looking forward to it latest title, Christmas has come early. For the Call of Duty curious, now is a great time to experience what the fuss is all about without spending a single cent. In line with this, Activision has posted a helpful FAQ page about the free trial event on their official website.
The Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare free trial is now available for download from the demo area of PlayStation Store or Xbox Live. You can also find it by searching "Call of Duty Infinite Warfare free trial" on the consoles' store apps. For digital copies of COD: Infinite Warfare, 60GB worth of free space will be needed on PS4 or Xbox One. If you want to play online and in multiplayer mode, a subscription on PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live Gold will be required.
