Earlier this month, Blizzard Entertainment announced a special event happening for Overwatch on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The game's developer then revealed the Overwatch Christmas event last week on the company's official Twitter account. The event was rumored to feature new skins, emotes, themed loot boxes, and more.

According to a Reddit thread, Blizzard posted the tweet with an invitation. The tweet also includes an Overwatch .gif Christmas card. At the front, it showed a snow-laden image of the King's Row. When opened, it had a message directed to gamers.

The message mentioned December 13 as the time to "join us for some holiday cheer". But what exactly Overwatch's Christmas event is bringing to the table? Dataminers have been up all night at the time of announcement to uncover what the event is all about. Some of them even claimed to discover 4 new maps coming along in Overwatch.

In a post by Dailystar, several Dataminers have discovered that there are 4 new maps for the game. One of the new maps appear to be a reconstructed King's Row, a similar one to Junkenstein's Revenge. However, they're not sure if the other 3 maps exist because of how it's coded only hours away from the biggest "Overwatch Christmas" event yet.

And just like before, everybody expected to get a Holiday-themed spray, voice line, and a victory pose. According to Dataminers, it's like the previous Overwatch Halloween event.

The event was reportedly set to give out new costumes or new emotes for the game's fan-favorite characters. They were also set to have a new highlight intro. Characters such as Ana, Widowmaker, and D. Va are set to get new digs as well, along with other characters. However, the highly expected character skin addition of all is Torbjorn's Christmas Skin. He is set to get a new emote, a new costume, and a Christmas-themed highlight intro.

Some avid fans even assumed that Torbjorn might reprise his role as Santabjorn --- assuming that Blizzard will treat him like Junkrat in the previous Halloween event. But fans don't have to wait any longer to find out as the Overwatch Christmas event is now live.

Stay tuned for more updates!
