Samsung Galaxy S3 has finally hit Europe this Tuesday. Those who have pre-ordered the Android super phone are probably playing with it at the moment, ahead of the general release date of Galaxy S3 on May 30. Unfortunately, however, the Pebble Blue version of Galaxy S3 has been delayed for 2-3 weeks due to some manufacturing faults with the newly introduced color.
For past few days, reports about delays in launch of Samsung Galaxy S3 in blue were on a hike. In a statement to MobileFun UK, the Korean tech giant confirmed the delays of Pebble Blue model saying that the company is facing some issues with blue color and special coating and as a result it will take 2-3 weeks more to launch the device in the market.
"Samsung's Galaxy SIII Pebble Blue version comes with a newly invented blue color and special hyper-glaze material. In order to meet the highest internal quality standards and to provide the best quality Galaxy SIII to customers, a short supply of Pebble Blue version is expected in some regions in the next 2-3 weeks. Samsung is working hard to ensure that customers will get the Pebble Blue colored devices as soon as possible," said a Samsung spokesperson in a statement to MobileFun UK.
It looks like that Samsung has gone under-prepared for pre-orders in massive number and a small error in manufacturing has forced the company to throw away thousands of blue casings and start all over again. The stock unavailability of Pebble Blue model may cast a shadow upon the high profile launch of Galaxy S3. However, the production of Marble White model of Galaxy S3 is unaffected by the issue.
The delays are for a good reason too, which is to ensure the casing quality. On the other hand, delays are annoying too. We have waited for long, nearly one month since Samsung unveiled the device on May 4, and now we have to wait for a few weeks more.
According to Vodafone, the release of 16GB Marble White variant is on the schedule, while other models will be unavailable up to next four weeks in UK.
The question that bothers us again and again is why Samsung did not made it sure that the device was up to standard before putting it on pre-orders? It is to be noted that Samsung Galaxy S3 will also be available in 64GB edition, which will debut later this year.
