This year's Boston Major finals has proven to be a very exciting tournament indeed, as two European "Dota 2" teams, OG and Ad Finem, clashed to win the coveted $1 million prize pot. There might have been only one winner, but at the end of the day, both teams have won in their own ways.

The Defending Victor: OG

European "Dota 2" powerhouse OG is not a stranger to competition and victory, as the team won tons of tournaments during its esports career. Winning the Boston Major has added another feather to the team's cap, and has become the first team in "Dota 2" to win three official Valve events, the others being the Manila Major earlier this year and The Frankfurt Major in 2015.

OG has definitely bounced back after a devastating loss at The International 2016, losing 2-0 to Filipino "Dota 2" team TNC Gaming, which went down as the most shocking upset in the history of The International, according to PC Gamer.

Winning The Boston Major has redeemed OG, proving that when it comes to "Dota 2," they are still one of the teams to beat.

The Underdog: Ad Finem

If there's one thing we can say about Ad Finem's performance at The Boston Major, it's that they fought, and they fought hard.

The all-Greek team refused to be pushed aside by the two-time Major winner, giving it their all despite falling behind two matches in the finals. Ad Finem fought hard in game three, giving OG and the audience a good fight which lasted almost one and a half hours.

After switching Divine Rapier ownership and thus trading advantages back and forth, Ad Finem eventually secures their first and only win in the finals. It was not enough to win the tournament, but it was enough to shake OG's spirit and earn the respect of millions of "Dota 2" fans around the world.
