The core online features of Ubisoft's recently released open world action-adventure video game "Watch Dogs 2" may be experiencing more issues than expected. This is according to the game's developer themselves, who has also now announced that they will be delaying the release of the game's first downloadable content (DLC) for this very reason.
According to the recently posted announcement on the company's official blog, the development team responsible for patching "Watch Dogs 2's" core online and multiplayer issues apparently required more time than was expected to find solutions for the game's ongoing problems. The team has reportedly been working tirelessly on the game's seamless multiplayer mode, which was ultimately disabled prior launch due to severe bugs and issues.
The game has since received several patches to address the problem, with the latest one released late last month. Ubisoft explained that they still need to release more patches to fully stabilize "Watch Dog 2's" seamless multiplayer functionality and other core online features.
The company further mentioned that they had to commit additional development resources for their efforts resulting in their decision to adjust the release schedule for the first DLC. The problems apparently had to be prioritized before releasing any form of new multiplayer content.
According to the announcement, PlayStation 4 players will be getting the brand new DLC called the "T-Bone" content bundle on Dec. 22 (or Dec. 26 in Japan) instead of the originally scheduled Dec. 13 release date. Xbox One and PC players will be getting their copy a month later on Jan. 24, 2017.
As of the moment, it isn't clear yet if the delay of the game's first DLC will directly affect the original release schedules of the game's subsequent DLCs. Despite the first DLC's delay, Ubisoft will still be holding the special "T-Bone Chaos" event on its original Dec. 19 schedule. The event will run for four weeks and will include different "themed challenges" every week. "Watch Dogs 2" was released worldwide last month on Nov. 15 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC.
