"Blindspot" Season 2 is currently on a short hiatus and is expected to return with all-new episode next year.

The mid-season finale of the series featured a gripping scene among Jane Doe (Jaimie Alxander) and Roman (Luke Mitchell), as Jane infused a ZIP drug to her brother to erase his memories while believing that it can give Roman a better life with the FBI in their lives.

In the upcoming episode, Jane Doe, Kurt Weller and Nas Kamal will found out that there's a new mole operating for the Sandstorm organization. During the winter finale, Dr.Bordern (Ukweli Roach) was known to be one of the people giving Sandstorm information about Jane and her team.

Martin Gero, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, said that the terrorist group "always stay a step ahead of the FBI" when asked whether losing Jane and Dr.Borden as the moles inside the FBI would hinder Sandstorm to move forward.

"It's a blow to them certainly, they've lost both of their moles. They lost the intel that they were getting from Jane and the ability to manipulate Weller, and they've lost their direct mole, their emergency mole, with Borden," he said.

"But somehow they always stay a step up ahead of us and it starts to drive us crazy trying to figure out how they are able to anticipate our moves," he continued.

In connection to this, the revelation of Borden being the mole of Sandstorm has also an effect to Jane's relationship to her brother, Roman.

In an interview with TVLine, Alex Berger , the co-producer of the series pointed out that "Jane and Roman's relationship hangs by a thread," adding that "to have any hope of stopping Sandstorm, Jane will need Roman to recover memories - but if he remembers her injecting him with ZIP, erasing his memory, it will tear them apart." Rumors are rife that Roman will once again join the terrorist group.

Meanwhile, it is said that as the series return, it will clarify why Kurt's name is tattooed on the back of Jane.

Don't miss "Blindspot" Season 2 in January 4, 2017 on NBC.
