Kickstarter-funded medieval role playing game "Kingdom Come: Deliverance" may not have been released yet, but the developers have confirmed that there will definitely be a sequel made for the game.
Speaking to Gamewatcher, Warhorse Studios PR manager Tobias Stolz-Zwilling said that there is a sequel planned for "Kingdom Come: Deliverance," given how big the game has become, doing away with the original plan of splitting the game into three parts, or "acts."
"It was necessary to split the game to put smaller 'parts' on the Kickstarter. This however, isn't up to date anymore," Stolz-Zwilling said. "We already reshuffled this idea and will release a regular RPG title: 'Kingdom Come: Deliverance', with a closed story. The next game will be 'Kingdom Come 2' (not official name) and will offer a new story, map and more."
A lot has changed since the Kickstarter campaign for "Kingdom Come: Deliverance" started in 2014, but Warhorse Studios made sure that the game development progressed with the community's suggestions in mind.
"Of course we are listening closely to community feedback," the PR manager confirmed. "Our forums are open and well-maintained by several members of the development team."
"In March 2016, we released the beta with an added questionnaire. Approximately 8000 people responded and it gave us a good overview if they like what we are doing, if things are too easy or too hard, or if the quests are too long/complicated and the like," he added. "The feedback was mainly positive in all aspects which gave us a huge sigh of relief."
"Kingdom Come: Deliverance" was supposed to come out in 2015 as per its Kickstarter target, but was subsequently moved to 2017.
"The main reason is always quality. The more time we have, the more time we can spend on actually developing the game," Stolz-Zwilling told WCCF Tech in August. "We have no target yet. We have some things to discuss right now, but we want to release the release date as soon as possible. We want to say it in the next weeks, months, we'll see."
"Kingdom Come: Deliverance" will be released on PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
