As they say, some things can't be fixed once it's broken or when it's already broken.
Season 3 of The CW's The Flash picked up where Season 2 left off, the night Barry Allen went back into time, after his father was killed by Zoom, and saved his mother from being killed by Reverse-Flash --- thus creating Flashpoint, his original timeline. From this point on, any changes Barry have made by going back in time were manifested in alternate timelines.
Fast forward to Barry's third timeline since Flashpoint and the current one he is in --- there's Savitar, who calls himself the God of Speed; Dr. Alchemy, who turned out to be Barry's lab partner Julian; Caitlin Snow becoming Killer Frost; Wally West becoming Kid Flash; Cisco's brother Dante dying in a car accident; and H.R. Wells, the funny version of Star Lab's Harrison Wells.
But while some of these changes are mostly behind Barry and the rest of Team Flash now, the mid-season finale entitled "The Present" proved that creating Flashpoint actually have more repercussions than just changing everyone's lives and abilities, as evidently shown on Comic Book's episode recap. The only question here is: Will Barry ever save his loved ones in time?
Last Tuesday's mid-season finale has Savitar written all over it; where he came from, what his true abilities are, and most of all --- his prophecy about everyone in Team Flash, as reported on UPROXX. One of those prophecies eventually came to light as The Flash accidentally traveled into the future and saw himself pleading Savitar to not kill Iris West and ultimately failing to save her.
That being said, it seems like The Flash has to be more focused on the present rather than what's going to happen and what's already happened if he wants to save Iris and any other of his loved ones. Aside from that, he's going to need all the help he could get --- including Kid Flash and hopefully, Harrison Wells and Jesse Quick from Earth 2.
The Flash returns Tuesday, January 24 at 8 p.m. on The CW.
