Everyone is already waiting for the upcoming "Vikings" Season 5 as Season 4's mid-season finale will present a huge impact on each character's fate. There were already speculations regarding the leading star who played the role of Lagertha, Katheryn Winnick, would come to an end. People are also worried that Travis Fimmel's character, Ragnar Lothbrok, will be one of the major characters who will get killed off.

During the "Vikings" Season 4 finale, the shield maiden had been seriously stabbed in the chest during their battle on Paris. With that, people immediately jumped into conclusion that Lagertha is going to die on the siege since she also was neither featured on flash-forward nor even mentions on her character's status was heard.

"No," Michael Hirst, show's creator and writer said referring to the rumored death of Lagertha.

"There was a fan in New York who wrote to me years ago and she said, 'I don't' care how many of the male characters you kill off, but if you do anything to Lagertha, you're in trouble.' So I'm very careful about that warning," he added.

Hirst also added that Winninck's characted in the historical drama TV series is as important as Fimmel's character. He mentioned that Lagertha is the soul of the show.

Just as Lagertha, Fimmel's character is reportedly confirmed to not die and will officially return on season 5. There are speculations that Travis Fimmel will reprise his role as Ragnar Lothbrok in "Vikings" Season 5. Some fans believe that King Ecbert will decide not to hand Ragnar over to King Aelle of Northumbria and that the King of Kattegat will survive another season.

On a recent report, History Channel officially renewed Vikings Season 5. Avid fans of the said TV series kept on pondering if what would be the twist of its amazing storylines.

For now, there is still no exact premiere date for "Vikings" Season 5, but it was scheduled for release in early fall of 2017.
