The historical drama television show "Vikings" Season 5 has already been confirmed to return, and fans may see the end of Ragnar. Recent reports claim that by the things going on , Kattegat will have a new king by then.Furthermore, there were rumors that new casts will give more thrill to the plot for the upcoming season.

As an overview, the second part of "Vikings" Season 4 is set to return end of the month. Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel) comes back to Kategatt as a totally changed person. There are speculations that Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) is going to fight for the throne. Other speculations also indicate that Ragnar may die in season 5.

Though "Vikings" Season 5 is still filming in Ireland, latest rumors suggested that there's one person who won't be returning to the screen when the show finally returns to the History Channel in early 2017. Rumors claim that Travis Fimmel, the breakout star of the show, won't be returning this season, because his character, Ragnar Lothbrok, will be killed.

The speculations started when Michael Hirst teased fans claiming that "Vikings" season 5 will see the focus shift to other characters besides Ragnar.

"Floki is now going through very deep and profound changes, and reevaluating his life, his relationships, and this will continue," Hirst said. "This is a very big thread in the story moving forward. I can't exaggerate how big these changes will be. It's Floki having to reimagine his whole life, who he is, what he's here for. It will lead to quite extraordinary outcomes."

Moreover, when "Vikings" season 5 arrives next year, it will feature more characters.

According to reports, former WWE superstar Adam "Edge" Copeland as a member of the cast. Mr. Copeland who will play "a fierce and brave warrior, chosen by Floki to be one of the leaders of the Viking party intent on traveling to Iceland to set up a community there." Golden Globe Award winner Jonathan Rhys Meyers is also joining the cast.

"Vikings" Season 5 is slated for a February 2017 release.
