The second season of "The Seven Deadly Sins" is speculated to return sometime 2017 after the release of the four-part OVA "Signs of Holy War."

In a previous report, the storyline of "The Seven Deadly Sins" Season 2 is expected to continue from the events after the four-part OVA series, entitled "The Seven Deadly Sins: Signs of Holy War." Avid followers are excited to see Princess Elizabeth as she continues her quest to find the Sacred Knights, and to re-claim the Liones Kingdom.

Last year, animation studio A-1 Pictures announced that production for a new anime series was green-lit for 2016, with the studio assuring that the original staff will return for the upcoming season.

However, "Signs of Holy War" was released a few months ago as a four-week special broadcast run and featuring an entirely new staff, different from what they have announced - thus the speculation of having the second anime season delayed until at least next year.

Several fans are speculating a 2017 release date, as they consider the series' successful run. The anime series has also proved its popularity by having its complete episodes - both dubbed in English and Japanese with English subtitles - included in the Netflix library.

Having its first episode on October 2014 from the manga of the same name, Nakaba Suzuki's "The Seven Deadly Sins" ("Nanatsu no Taizai") tells the story of Elizabeth, the third princess of Kingdom of Liones, in her search for the Seven Deadly Sins.

With Elizabeth's empire taken down by the Holy Knights of Britannia, she hopes to not only take back her kingdom from them, but to also seek justice in an unreasonable world.

A widely well-liked franchise, "The Seven Deadly Sins" manga series has since spawned a 24-episode anime series, several manga volumes, and a light novel scheduled for a North American release on May 2017.

Stay tuned for more updates regarding "The Seven Deadly Sins" Season 2.
