Treyarch's popular shooter "Call of Duty: Black Ops II" remains the fans' most requested game to be added to the ever growing Xbox One backwards compatibility list.

"Call of Duty" titles have dominated the list of most requested titles to be backwards compatible, with "Call of Duty: Black Ops 2" still sitting comfortably on top of the rankings, with almost 200,000 fans requesting for the title to be added.

As of this writing, five out of the top ten spots are occupied by "Call of Duty" titles, namely "Call of Duty: Black Ops II," "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2," "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare," "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3" and "Call of Duty: World at War."

Microsoft has added "Call of Duty 2" to the list in August, joining the already added "Call of Duty: Black Ops," which was included in the list in May. To fans, this may be a sign that more "Call of Duty" titles will be making its way to the list soon.

Despite the demand for the title, however, Xbox Live director of programming Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb clarified that the decision to make the games backwards compatible will still depend on the publisher.

"If you want an Xbox 360 game to be played on Xbox One via backward compatibility, you should contact the game publisher," Hryb explained on the backwards compatibility FAQ.

Some of the most requested games on the list have already made their way to the backwards compatible list this year. On N7 Day, both "Mass Effect 2" and "Mass Effect 3" were finally added to the backwards compatibility library. The two "Mass Effect" games have secured their spots in the top ten most requested backwards compatible titles for the Xbox One.

Here are the current Top ten games that are most requested to join the huge library of Xbox One backwards compatible titles:

"Call of Duty: Black Ops 3"

"The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim"

"Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2"

"Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3"

"Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare"

"GTA IV"

"Batman: Arkham City"

"Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas"

"Bioshock Infinite"

"Assassin's Creed III"

Two new games were also added to the Xbox One backwards compatibility list recently. They are "Military Madness" and "Omega Five," both published by Hudson Entertainment.
