Rumors of cancellation of "The Simpsons'" next season have surfaced on the Internet after Donald Trump's presidential win.
According to Morning News USA, it has been speculated that the show writers' "prediction" through an alleged episode made in 2000 may probably have encouraged Trump to run for the presidential race.
However, the said episode was not released in 2000 but instead were taken from a short video entitled "Trumpastic Voyage", which was released on 2015.
Furthermore, E! Online confirms that "The Simpsons" is renewed for Season 29 and Season 30, far from the possibility that "The Simpsons" will be cancelled.
Meanwhile, Former ice hockey player and coach Wayne Gretzky is set to make an appearance on the upcoming episode of the long-running series.
As with several guest stars in the past, Gretzky will be converted into "The Simpsons'" art style and will feature his own voice, as told by CBS Local. It is reported that he finished recording his lines on summer.
There are not much available details for the episode as of press time, but according to Fox's official listing, the episode will feature a workplace accident that will leave Homer in a position to sue Mr. Burns, which leaves a source of romance for the unfulfilled Marge.
As a big fan of blue (because of his Edmonton, St. Louis and New York tenure), could Gretzky be Marge's unanticipated paramour?
Series producers Al Jean and Joel Cohen have expressed admiration to Gretzky. In an interview, Cohen mentioned that Gretzky was as classy and generous as everyone hope an icon can be, and Jean said that Gretzky "is smart, funny," and "felt like Gretzky must have when he met Gordie Howe as a kid."
Nicknamed "The Great One," Wayne Gretzky is one of the best ice hockey players of all-time, although just seven seasons short of "The Simpsons'" 28-season run.
In other news, the previous week's title scene surprised many fans as all of the Simpsons members except Bard gets killed before they can go back home.
The opening sequence, which you can watch in this official YouTube upload, tells the events of the other family members' death, including Homer choking on a plutonium rod, Lisa taking a saxophone hit to her skull, and Maggie and Margie' car plunging into a lake with Maggie on the driving seat.
Confused, Bart was the only one who makes it home, takes the family portraits, and watches TV by himself. Finally, he gets to control the remote.
"The Simpsons'" episode featuring Gretzky will premiere on December 4 at Fox. Stay tuned for more updates.
