Ubisoft may just have just taken a swipe at Hello Games' disgraced open world space game "No Man's Sky," hidden in its upcoming game "Watch Dogs 2."
"Watch Dogs 2" has a very interesting Easter Egg hiding in one of its many missions. In this mission, players will be given the task of hacking into the game's version of Ubisoft's San Francisco studio, where a supposedly secret footage of its upcoming title in development is hidden.
The player will then be presented with the said footage, which is shown below.
Now, there are three possible things that might be going on about this footage. According to Kotaku, Ubisoft may have just cheekily teased a new game in development, which means that we may be getting a new space game from the French publisher soon.
If that is the case, then Ubisoft fans will be excited to get their hands on a space game made by the creators of "Assassin's Creed" and other popular franchises.
Another interesting theory, according to GameRant, is that the company may have just been taking a playful poke at Hello Games' now infamous game "No Man's Sky."
It is no secret that "No Man's Sky" is peppered with a lot of issues at the moment, from the players' mostly negative reviews, to the false advertising claims. Its developer's Twitter and email accounts were even hacked a couple of weeks ago.
This could all just be a reference to the troubled space game, but Ubisoft has had similar issues with its games before. If one can remember, the first "Watch Dogs" had the same problem with setting the players' expectations.
Prior to the release of the first "Watch Dogs," there were a lot of features that were promised in the final product. However, people were left disappointed when Ubisoft was not able to deliver on these promises.
Will the next installment finally deliver? We will find out when "Watch Dogs 2" is released on Nov. 15.
