Nintendo has assured parents that "Super Mario Run" can be played by their kids without ever worrying about racking up credit card charges.
Taking about the upcoming game during a financial presentation in October, Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima said that the game only needs a one off fee to be able to play it as much as they want.
"Downloading Super Mario Run will be free, as will some of the play elements," Kimishima said. All of the game content will be enjoyable after paying a set purchase price."
"With our current plan, once a set purchase price is paid, consumers can repeatedly play the game without worrying about additional fees required," the Nintendo president confirmed. "So, children can also play it with peace of mind."
This comes as a huge relief for parents who are afraid that their children may abuse in-app purchases without their knowledge, a common issue with app providers for the longest time.
Last week, a federal judge has ruled that online retailer giant Amazon must give refunds for purchases made by children within the app without the parents permission, NBC News reported.
This decision was made following the Federal Trade Commission's statement about Amazon's lax rules about in-app purchases, making it easy for young children to spend money on mobile games.
Apple and Google also faced similar charges in 2014, with both app store giants refunding at least $32.5 million and $19 million, respectively.
Nintendo has not finalized the price for "Super Mario Run" as of the moment, but will announce further details as the release date draws near.
"Super Mario Run" will be released on iOS this December, with the Android launch to follow sometime next year. There are also rumors that the game will possibly come to the new console, the Nintendo Switch, although this information is yet to be confirmed by the company.
