The recently released "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" is yet another great addition to the long-running "Call of Duty" series, but how far did it go in multiplayer? Is it enough to replace "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3?"

For a lot of players and long-time fans of the franchise, "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" and "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" are two entirely different games with differences not stretching not just on the settings, but deep in the mechanics as well. For others, however, the games already started looking the same.

This is where the comparison between the two starts. For a lot, telling apart "Infinite Warfare" and "Black Ops 3" is almost tricky, especially with their almost identical multiplayer modes. As covered by Polygon, the strong points in "Infinite Warfare" lies on its campaign and the developers chose to play it safe on the multiplayer.

This meant almost no changes except for a few mechanics exclusive to "Infinite Warfare." What this meant for the game is that it may not have as much players finding the incentive to stay as they've already worked their way with "Black Ops 3."

One good figure to indicate this is Gamerant's recent report about "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" lagged behind the previous "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" by 48.4 percent in the UK. This may still have something to do with the initial reception of "Infinite Warfare" due to the fans' dismay about the franchise going full sci-fi.

"Black Ops 3," on the other hand, still has a steady stream of players and provides players with more incentives to keep playing. This is on top of the recently released zombie-themed DLCs.

Still, for those looking for a new approach and aren't bothered by an awful lot of changes, "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" is still a very nice distraction, especially with the addition of the funky-looking zombies mode.
