NBC renewed "Grimm" for its sixth season and announced on August 29 that it would be the final. However, fans are positive that it will be renewed for Season 7, despite new reports saying that after its season 6, the supernatural drama will release its spin-off series.
According to a report on Aug. 29, NBC confirmed that "Grimm" Season 6 will be the supernatural drama's finale. Many fans felt this announcement coming, given that the network had moved the show's air date to a Friday night graveyard slot, indicating that it was destined to be cancelled.
Fans instantly took to online petitioning sites to make it clear that there was still a call for the show. They either want NBC to reconsider the show for another year or for Netflix to pick it up after cancellation. So far, there has been no response from either parties, and it looks like there is no future for the supernatural show.
Meanwhile, "Grimm" Season 6 will air on January 6, 2017 with some unexpected change of casts according to a report.
There are new characters to join "Grimm" Season 6, according to one article published. These characters may bring in a new storyline that can be included in the upcoming season. With the new characters coming in and the story to pick up from the last season, the start of the upcoming one is expected to be more intense.
Moreover, instead of "Grimm" season 7, the supernatural drama may reportedly have a spin-off series after season 6 and it will focus on the Wesen couple and their hybrid child. Their child is speculated to grow up stronger than Adalind's (Claire Coffee) children.
"Grimm" was created by David Greenwalt, Jim Kouf, and Stephen Carpenter. Greenwalt and Kouf serve as executive producers, along with Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner of Hazy Mills. Universal Television also producers.
While fans cannot wait for the upcoming season finale of "Grimm", some are expecting for possible season 7 renewal or the spin-off series, but NBC has yet to confirm the news about it.
