NBC has already announced that "Grimm" Season 6 is the final season for the supernatural series, but fans remain hopeful for more seasons.

According to a report on Aug. 29, NBC confirmed that "Grimm" Season 6 will be the supernatural drama's final season. Many fans felt this announcement coming, given that the network had moved the show's air date to a Friday night graveyard slot, indicating that it was destined to be cancelled.

Announcing the premiere date for Season 6 in a press release, the network stated "the final season" will begin on Jan. 6. Moreover, the season 6 will only consist of 13 episodes with the finale chapter following the battle fans have been reportedly waiting for.

Following the announcement of the show's cancellation on NBC, fans are still hopeful and even petitioned urging NBC to rethink its decision to axe "Grimm" or asking streaming services such as Netflix to pick up the series.

As of writing, the petition for a "Grimm" season 7 on Netflix has been signed by 9,153 supporters and needs only 847 more to reach the 10,000-signature goal.

"If you are a fan of the show and feel that Grimm simply cannot end yet, then help us all by signing this petition, so Netflix can see the wonderful support that this show has from fans and hopefully consider continuing the show," part of the petition article for Netlix noted.

However, the streaming service network has not confirmed about renewing or adapting the supernatural series.

"Grimm" was created by David Greenwalt, Jim Kouf, and Stephen Carpenter. Greenwalt and Kouf serve as executive producers, along with Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner of Hazy Mills. Universal Television also producers.

"Grimm" Season 6 will premiere on Friday, January 6 at 8 p.m. EDT on NBC. Meanwhile, fans are still keeping an eye to any announcements regarding the possible renewal of the supernatural series for a Season 7, regardless in any network or streaming services it will air.
