EA and Visceral, the team behind the development of the PC and Console horror hit game "Dead Space" are still quiet with "Dead Space 4" and its development. Will it actually see the light of day?
As of the moment, the official Twitter account for "Dead Space" is still dead, with news regarding the fourth installment in the series remaining dismal. Contrary to some speculations and rumors like one from Neurogadget, a thorough online search would show that none of Gamespot's reports actually mention anything about "Dead Space 4" being in development.
The potential sequel to "Dead Space 3," or an actual plan for one, met its untimely demise (via VideoGamer.com) with the third game not hitting the 5 million audience goal. Frank Gibeau's comment indicated that the development team would base the fate of the franchise on how the fans and gamers would receive "Dead Space 3" by the time it got out.
Despite a EA being in the dark for very long and not making any hint of "Dead Space 4," fans are still hopeful, especially with what Visceral had revealed in an interview with GamesTM via Cinema Blend's report last year.
"Many, many people here at Visceral have a warm spot in their heart for Dead Space, and right now we're busy with Hardline and...other things," ... "but it's definitely something we'd love to look at again."
Hope is not, at all, lost as Visceral still hinted something, though extremely vague on its official Twitter page last year.
It may be safe to assume that "Dead Space 4" isn't cancelled. But as far as development is concerned, all is quiet.
