Samsung has had a mixed year with huge ups and down like the resounding success of the Galaxy S7, and the utter disaster of the Galaxy Note 7. The Korean tech giant's move to cease the production of the Note 7 has brough on more attention and pressure on the next flagship phone in line, the Galaxy S8.
It is said that the phone market is relatively easy to predict and more in case of Samsung, which has a traditional upgrade in their flagship phones.
Based on the history of Samsung release dates, the Galaxy S8 is likely to be launched in either March or April, 2017 or even before MWC 2017 like the previous year.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 will feature a number of notable design changes compared to the Galaxy S7.
It is rumored that Samsung is removing the home button and including fingerprint scanning in the display. It also goes on to say that Samsung is planning to eliminate even top and bottom edges display for the Galaxy S8.
Another rumors suggests that the Galaxy S8 will feature a 5.1-inch display, and the Galaxy S8 Edge will have a 5.5-inch screen with OLED screens built by Samsung's display manufacturing arm. It will let Samsung better compete with Apple's 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhones.
There is a huge buzz around the Internet for the VR, and Samsung is said to take advantage of this by adopting a 4K display on its next flagship.
Samsung is likely to feature a dual-lens 30MP rear camera in Galaxy S8 with a wide f/1.4 aperture and 8MP front-facing snapper.
In terms of processor, Samsung will be coming up with variations this time, according to rumors. It is likely to feature a 3GHz Exynos 8895 processor in some regions and A 3.2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 830 chip in the US coupled with 6GB of RAM.
The new prediction for the Galaxy S8 includes an iris scanner, USB type-C, smart glow and an in-built projector. It might not have a headphone port like the iPhone 7 and will be packed with 4200mAh battery.
Furthermore, the Galaxy S8 is expected to be more expensive than the Galaxy S7 with a claimed $850 (roughly £655/AU$1120) SIM-free price tag. Still, these hearsays should still be taken with a grain of salt.
