With the recent announcement of "Red Dead Redemption 2," fans have starting losing their minds over it and many seem to be forgetting other games at hand, including the "GTA 6" talks. There is a high chance that Rockstar will focus its effort on the wild west sequel.
With "Red Dead Redemption 2" just waiting to engulf the online world in a few days, speculations on a "GTA 6" release or let alone, a release, may not happen anytime soon. In fact, it may not even happen on 2017 or 2018.
"Red Dead Redemption 2" is expected to come out around the third quarter of 2017 as reported by news outlets like Wired, making it extremely unlikely to have a follow up with the remaining months.
Still, this is not to say that "GTA 6" will not happen at all. "Grand Theft Auto" is one of Rockstar's permanent franchises, if not the best. With "GTA V" making $1 billion in just a span of three days after its initial release and still making tons of cash up until today, there's no rush for either the developers or the fans.
Like what we've covered before, Rockstar is still making a lot from "GTA V" and "GTA Online," making it less than necessary to pull out the new guns for another installment. More so with the existence of "Red Dead Redemption 2," along with its online features that will likely follow the open-ended freedom and multiplayer features of "GTA Online."
Still, fans could learn a lot from how it was with the never ending rumors, speculations and fan theories for "Red Dead Redemption 2" before Rockstar and Take-Two actually decided to make it happen for real. With Rockstar's habit with its games, a "GTA 6" popping out suddenly isn't exactly a wild goose chase.
Stay tuned for more news and updates on "GTA 6."
