After eight years and a lot of teases from Ubisoft, the publisher has finally confirmed that the much anticipated "Beyond Good and Evil 2" is in development.
Writing on the official "Beyond Good and Evil" Facebook page, Ubisoft has finally announced that its sequel is definitely in the works.
"If you've been waiting for news about BG&E... well, here you go!" the publisher wrote. "We are delighted to confirm that Michel Ancel is currently working with the Ubisoft Montpellier Studio on a new Beyond Good & Evil game."
The original "Beyond Good and Evil" has suffered from poor sales and was a commercial "disappointment," according to Official US PlayStation Magazine.
Despite not being a commercial success, however, "Beyond Good and Evil" has received critical acclaim from various sites and gaming awards bodies, getting numerous nominations for its game design, musical composition and story development.
After numerous teases and tons of speculations, fans of the original 2003 "Beyond Good and Evil" now have something to look forward to. Here are a few things fans want to see in the sequel.
A Deeper Story And A Good Set Of Characters
The cast of characters of the first "Beyond Good and Evil" are quirky and unique, but it would be nice if these characters are given a unique backstory as well. Fans are also asking for a deeper main storyline, voice acting and dynamic player choice.
A Huge Open World
Fans are also expecting a huge change in the "Beyond Good and Evil 2" world, and are asking for a full blown open world in the next sequel.
Jade Should Stay True To Her Character Design
Some fans are not keen on making huge changes to the main character, Jade. However, fans would like to see Jade's abilities and movements to undergo a huge overhaul to match current-gen titles such as "Assassin's Creed" or "Tomb Raider."
