Niantic Labs has laid out its next batch of updates for augmented reality game "Pokémon GO," and one of its major updates will make nabbing rare Pokémon easier.

The developer will be introducing the mechanic called "catch bonus." They have explained how the "catch bonus" feature works in "Pokémon GO" on their official site.

"We are adding a new feature which grants a catch bonus when you earn medals based on catching certain types of Pokémon (Kindler, Psychic, Gardener, etc.)," Niantic wrote on the blog. "These new bonuses will give you a better chance of capturing Pokémon with a related type.

"For example, as you reach a higher tier for the Kindler Medal, your bonus to catch Fire-type Pokémon such as Charmander, Vulpix and Ponyta increases." the developer added. "Trainers can work their way to a new tier by catching many Pokémon of the same type."

For multiple type Pokémon, the bonus will be the average of the trainers' bonuses for each type.

The new "catch bonus" will make hunting a specific rare Pokémon even easier, simply by catching as many Pokémon of that particular type. So getting a lot of those Pidgeys and Rattatas may actually nab you a Snorlax in the future.

Another major update featured is the tweaks done on Gym Training. According to Niantic, trainers can now bring six Pokémon to battle at friendly Gyms. The catch is that the CP of the Pokémon you are battling may be temporarily adjusted lower for your training session.

This gives lower level trainers and casual players a good fighting chance against the stronger trainers in "Pokémon GO." This will also give the less favored Team Instinct a chance to rise up the ranks and get ahead of their Team Mystic and Team Valor counterparts, according to Forbes.

There is no date for the patch release yet, but Nianic said that "Pokémon GO" version 0.41.2 for Android and 1.11.2 for iOS will roll out shortly. Check out this link for full patch notes.
