With the new NBA season around the corner, the latest trade rumors hinted that the Los Angeles Lakers will soon make their final move by trying to bring in the Chicago Bulls' shooting guard Jimmy Butler in order to improve their roster.
Sports Rageous reported that the Lakers are expected to team up with the Bulls and the New Orleans Pelicans for the blockbuster trade. According to the rumored three-team deal, the Lakers will send small forward Brandon Ingram, point guard D'Angelo Russell, Jose Calderon to the New Orleans Pelicans. It is stated that the Pelicans will also receive Bulls' power forward Nikola Mirotic and Bobby Portis, after which they will relieve power forward Anthony Davis to the Bulls, who will then send Butler to the Lakers.
Reports suggested that adding Butler onto their roster is expected to help the Los Angeles Lakers team fill the void created by the Kobe Bryant's retirement. It is stated that Butler will provide the Lakers with excellent offensive gameplay and the needed boost, which is rumored to help the team perform better in the upcoming season.
As far as the Bulls and the Pelicans are concerned, reports suggested that both the teams will also benefit from the rumored trade. With Davis on their side, the Bulls are expected to display a powerful defensive gameplay in the upcoming season. Reports claimed that Davis will be teamed up with Dwyane Wade in order to help the team score high in the new NBA season.
Besides, Russell and Ingram are expected to provide the Pelicans with the excellent defensive and offensive skill set, which will make them one of the top contenders in the Western Conference.
However, it remains to be seen whether this rumored blockbuster trade scenario is executed or not as there is no official confirmation from either of the teams mentioned above. Also, it is considered to be a highly unreal situation for the Lakers to give up its core lineup to acquire Butler.
