A "Mafia III" mobile game is set to be released alongside its PS4, Xbox One, and PC versions in October.
2K Games and Hangar 13 has recently revealed their new mobile game based on the upcoming open-world action-adventure game "Mafia III," called "Mafia III: Rivals." According to the blog post on the official "Mafia III" site, the mobile title will have a different gameplay style than its console and PC counterpart.
In "Mafia III: Rivals," players must battle against rival gangs, expand their crew by recruiting and training 40 crime bosses from the "Mafia III" universe, and take over New Bordeaux's criminal underworld. The mobile game will be more like an RPG, which will be different from the console and PC version's open-world action mechanic, Gamespot reported.
The "Mafia III" mobile game will be developed by Cat Daddy Games, the same studio which developed "MyNBA2K15" and "WWE SuperCard" for Android and iOS.
Players can pre-register on the "Mafia III: Rivals" page to receive in-game bonuses like a limited time bonus character and weapon at launch. The game is free to play on both Android and iOS.
Hangar 13 has also detailed its post-release contents for "Mafia III." Everyone will get free character outfits, regardless if the game was pre-ordered or not. Players will be able to change main character Lincoln Clay's outfits depending on their preferences.
All players will also get the "Judge, Jury and Executioner" golden weapons pack 30 days after the game launches. The weapon pack will include "The Praecisione" .30 rifle, "The Exterminatore" shotgun and "the Silentium" pistol.
Players will have more vehicle customization options for their rides, including personalized license plates and paint jobs, as well as a wider option to boost performance. More customization options can be won through free races, more of which will be revealed at a later date.
Three story expansions are also in the works, "Faster, Baby!", "Sign of the Times" and "Stones Unturned," all of which will be included in the $30 "Mafia III" Season Pass. Players also have the option to purchase the DLC's separately, although it will be much cheaper to go for the Season Pass option.
"Mafia III" launches on October 7 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. "Mafia III: Rivals" will also be launched on Android and iOS on the same day.
