Up to this day, there are still rumors regarding "Red Dead Redemption 2" or "Red Dead 3." Unfortunately, despite the push from fans, Take-Two isn't really showing much about the game or let alone, its existence.
To this extent, it might even be safer to assume that the third "Red Dead" game won't be out until late 2018 or even 2019. This theory becomes less plausible with the mere facts of Take-Two and Rockstar not making any appearances on E3 2016, PlayStation Meeting and TGS 2016.
It was rumored that Rockstar and Take-Two didn't show up at E3 2016 due to unforeseen and unfortunate events regarding a shooting incident, but no official statement was made about it.
This also brings another subject to be taken as a grain of salt as regarding the next game getting a title like "Red Dead Redemption 2" or "Red Dead 3: Legends of The West," as shown a number of forums like one on Gamespot.
Based from how the series has been getting its titles, it would be expected that it would still have the words "Red Dead," maybe even like "Red Dead Retribution," as how a fan have created a mock-up cover of the next game.
Instead, as the sources and leads surface, it may make more sense that "Red Dead Redemption Remaster" will be released and take that "big project" that Take-Two is working on currently. "Red Dead Redemption 2" might be something we won't see for a while like how it is with "Half-Life 3."
However, there's definitely no harm in speculating or brewing up rumors regarding a game that's pretty much still a far cry. This is still very beneficial to the game as the fanbase can drive its creator to actually bring out the title and this may even help speed up the process.
Fans and gamers are very hopeful of "Red Dead Redemption 2" or the third entry in the Rockstar's "permanent franchise" (as Rockstar itself have confirmed it via Gamerant).
Stay tuned for more updates as we track the next "Red Dead."
