The latest rumors about the Microsoft Surface Book 2 hinted that the device might be launched with new excellent specs like high-resolution display panel, updates Windows operating system, and new USB port.

HNGN reported that the new device is expected to feature an enhanced display panel with 4K resolution and 3D support. The Surface Book 2 is also expected to be slimmer and lighter compared to its earlier installment.

Furthermore, the Microsoft device will be powered by the Intel Kaby Lake processor, which is expected to provide the users with enhanced device performance than its predecessor. The new chipset will also have less power consumption functionality and thus aid in longer device life.

In terms of software specs, the Surface Book 2 is rumored to run on the latest Windows Redstone 2 update, which will focus on aspects like productivity improvements for the desktop. It will include new features like Office Hub, Working Sets, and OneClip.

Besides, the latest device from the Redmond-based technology giant will probably consist of additional specs like USB 3.1, which will provide with faster data transfers via the hybrid Surface Book 2.

As far as the release date rumors are concerned, the Microsoft Surface Book 2 is expected to be launched at the company's event likely to be held in October. The device will then be finally made available in early 2017.

Meanwhile, few reports stated that Microsoft might launch the Surface all-in-one PCs at the hardware event next month along with the Surface Book 2. The new device is expected to be launched in three variants with screen sizes of 21-inch, 24-inch, and 27-inch models.

However, nothing about the specs or release date have been officially confirmed by Microsoft till date. Hence, the rumors should still be taken with a grain of salt.
