Amidst NBA trade rumors that the Cleveland Cavaliers might trade their power forward Kevin Love, the latest reports hinted that the trade is not happening anymore as the management has decided to retain Love in their team in order to keep up with their champion status. Reports claimed that this is expected to cause a major setback for the Chicago Bulls as they were looking forward to bring in Love onto their roster.
Earlier there were reports that the Cavaliers were looking at the possibility to trade Love for Bull's power forward Taj Gibson. Reports claimed that even the Chicago Bulls' had considered trading Gibson from Love in order to improve their frontcourt gameplay.
However, according to the latest trade rumors, the Cavaliers will not give away Love as he is one of their valuable assets, reported Basketball Insiders. Also, the team wants to retain Love as he has played a key role in helping the team win a number of matches in the past NBA season. It is also expected that the trio consisting of Kevin Love, small forward LeBron James and point guard Kyrie Irving will form a deadly combo and thus help the team to maintain their dominance in the Eastern Conference league.
To add on to the NBA trade rumors for the upcoming season, Morning Ledger reported that the current priority of the Cavaliers is to re-sign the free agent J.R. Smith in order to complete their roster for the 2016-17 NBA season. This has hinted that the Cavaliers are done trading for the new season and will focus on improving their gameplay right from the day one of the training sessions.
On the other hand, reports hinted that the Chicago Bulls might now pursue Philadelphia 76ers center Jahlil Okafor in order to improve their on-court offensive and defensive skills. Nonetheless, nothing has been confirmed from either of the teams as of now. So, the trade rumors should be taken with a grain of salt.
