Level-5 has recently confirmed that the much awaited RPG title "Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom" is still in development.
It has been a long time since the developer announced the follow-up title to "Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch." "Ni No Kuni 2" was revealed to be in development for the Playstation 4 at the Playstation Experience in December 2015, according to Polygon.
After a long silence and an apparent no-show at Level-5's own fan event "Vision 2016," fans have started to worry about the future of the game. However, company CEO Akihiro Hino assured that the game is still in the works during a recent interview with IGN Japan. (via Siliconera)
According to Hino, "Ni No Kuni 2" has grown massive in scale, and now has the most staff members from Level-5 working on it at the moment. Hino assured that the team is working hard on the anticipated title.
Hino also mentioned that the next game will appeal to both adults and children, much like a Studio Ghibli anime.
"Looking back at the previous game, with the protagonist and setting in mind, its content was very much geared towards adults, but the visuals did look a bit like it was for kids, " Hino explained.
"It may have looked too much like it was for kids," the Level-5 CEO continued, "and while we may have another young boy as the protagonist this time around, we're being careful so that we can make it into something that will completely feel like it can be played by adults."
Unfortunately, there was no mention of any release date windows for "Ni No Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom," but with the game firmly in development, fans can now rest easy.
More details about "Ni No Kuni 2" are speculated to come from this year's Tokyo Game Show, according to TechnoBuffalo, which happens from Sept. 15 to 18. Stay tuned for more updates.
