Supercell's recent blog post explaining its so-called "design values" was slammed by some members of the "Clash of Clans" community.

"The Clash of Clans team's goal has always been to build a game that people would play not just for weeks or months, but for years," Supercell said. "Achieving this goal is an epic challenge that keeps the fire lit under our team."

Supercell then talked about its key values in building "Clash of Clans." The team talked about playstyle diversity, social play, depth, meaningful progression and simplicity, all which were explained in detail on the blog.

"We hope that sharing our values with you will lead to some awesome conversations about Clash of Clans going forward," the team said towards the end of the blog post.

Some "Clash of Clan" players took the post as a sign of the team reaching out to its audience. Most players, however, do not seem to buy it, slamming some of Supercell's points in the entry as an excuse for its upcoming "huge update."

"I'm sure this is just a precursor to a post later this month detailing the new update," user Kelbesq responded on Reddit. "Now they can say 'We are doing X because it aligns with design value Y" instead of "because reasons'."

"The one that bothered me the most and that has conflicting values is the Simplicity," another Reddit user likqidfuzion commented, citing the December 2015 as completely going against this value.

The same sentiments were echoed on the "Clash of Clan" forums, with some saying that the team is coming up with excuses rather than working on what needs to be fixed in the game.

It is admirable for Supercell to reach out and try to communicate with its players, but it looks like the "Clash of Clans" community would rather see improvements to the game rather than getting more explanations.

Recently, Supercell has cancelled this year's ClashCon, which for most players serve as a huge read flag for "Clash of Clans." Will the game finally redeem itself with the next update? Stay tuned for the latest news here.
