Amid numerous leaks hinting at a new Apple Watch, a new MacBook Pro and the new iPhone 7 surfacing online, not even a single update of the MacBook Air seems to be stirring the conversations among MacBook enthusiasts, BGR reported.

The report also claimed that the MacBook Air line is slowly being scrapped with rumors claiming that Apple is presently concentrating on MacBook Pro 2016.

However, lately, Apple is expected to announce a handful of major updates for its highly anticipated MacBook Air in the coming weeks, according to a new report by reliable Apple Watcher, Mark Gurman.

It has been rumored that the tech company is pending a release on the MacBook Air with a collection of hardware improvements including upgraded processors and graphics.

Apple is rumored to restore the MacBook Air with USB Type-C, the first reversible USB Port which is becoming the new standard among PCs, tablets and smartphones.

However, Apple's new 12-inch MacBook comes with only one USB Type-C port and a headphone jack.

This new generation of MacBook Air consists of two USB 3.0 ports, one Thunderbolt 2 and a SD Extended Capacity (SDXC) card slot.

Meanwhile, there's no report yet as to whether the Apple will hang onto the same number of ports when it makes the transition to USB-C.

The highly-anticipated device is also expected to produce an awe-inspiring refresh in 2016, with claims that the laptop will feature Siri and Touch ID fingerprint recognition, according to Vine Report.

The laptop is rumored to be more portable and flexible as an outcome of its lighter and thinner hardware as opposed to other up-to-date models, featuring new batteries, Intel Skylake processors and cooling systems.

In terms of price, the 13-inch MacBook Air is likely to cost $980, while the 15-inch model is rumored to carry a price tag of about $1,100.
