The official Biohazzard YouTube channel recently released a gameplay footage of "Resident Evil 4" remastered for PS4 and Xbox One. The video shows the game in action in its promised 1080p full HD gameplay and consistent 60 frames per second speed.
The video below shows the first level in the game wherein Leon traverses the village in the search for the President's daughter who was abducted by the cult members under Los Illuminados' command:
The footage shows how well-textured the game is now. Aside from the bumped up resolution from the former 720p to 1080p, a lot of in-game graphical element has been retextured and looks extremely sharp. Take Leon's jacket for one.
The items also got improved textures that are actually readable this time. This is a huge improvement from the last HD Remaster for the previous console that have blurred meshes as evident on this comparison video.
Another video below is the part where Leon guides Ashley as they have entered the castle. This is also the part where Ashley helps Leon solve a puzzle, but the gameplay elements showing Ashley being the controlled character is cut.
As the video showed, there were some lighting improvements as it showed in the level's environment.
For those who haven't played "Resident Evil 4" yet, this might be a good excuse now to backtrack, especially if these players found a new fandom over the "Resident Evil" franchise.
The "true" HD version of "Resident Evil 4" officially releases on August 30 and will be priced at $19.99. This will include every single add-on that was released for the original game including Ada Wong's side story, Mercenaries, and New Game Plus.
"Resident Evil 4" was the game that started today's third person shooter standards in terms of control, camera angle and mechanics. However, some fans where thrown off with how it abandoned the "survival horror" feel in exchange for an "action-shooter" experience.
Fans expect this element to be brought back with the upcoming release of "Resident Evil 7" instead.
