The upcoming final expansion for Infinity Ward and Treyarch's "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" will bring an end to the long-running Zombies saga.
The last expansion, dubbed "Salvation," will include Zombie Mode "Revelations," which is said to bring a satisfying conclusion to the Zombies saga introduced in "Call of Duty: World at War" eight years ago.
In a previous interview with Gamespot, Treyarch executive producer Jason Blundell revealed that the last DLC will answer and resolve some of the cliffhangers presented towards the end of the "Black Ops 2" DLC 4.
"I think I enraged the community some when I put in this video that showed Samantha in a house with a boy called Edward," Blundell recalled the ending of "Black Ops 2."
"They were playing with zombie toys. Then an alarm goes off and you hear Max's voice calling them down to the basement," Blundell continued. "The characters say, 'I wish our heroes in our stories were real.' Then we dropped to black. That was the end of 'Black Ops 2'."
Blundell also commented that the final DLC will evoke emotions from the player, and will "put brackets around" the entire Zombies story.
Apart from the Zombies storyline "Revelations," four new maps will also be included in the "Salvation" DLC, including medieval setting Citadel, bite-sized battlefield Micro, Wild West-style Outlaw and Rupture, the high-tech reimagining of "Call of Duty: World At War"'s classic map Outskirts.
Previously, we speculated that the last DLC will be revealed at the "Call of Duty XP" fan event, which will be held from September 2 - 4, and it looks like we will definitely be seeing the new DLC in action during the event.
"Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" Salvation DLC will be launched first on PlayStation on September 6, and will be priced at $15 for those who do not have a season pass for the game.
