Fans should not expect any news on the upcoming game "Mass Effect: Andromeda" soon.
The highly anticipated title was speculated to make an appearance at the recently concluded Gamescom in Germany. However, Electronic Arts did not showcase anything from the latest "Mass Effect" title.
The publisher has shown a trailer for "Mass Effect: Andromeda" earlier this year at the EA Play event at the Electronic Entertainment Expo, but fans are quite puzzled as to why there are no gameplay footage out for the game yet.
In an interview with Game Informer, however, Electronic Arts' Patrick Soderlund explained why the much awaited title was a no-show at the biggest trade fairs so far.
"It's strictly that the game will get the right type of exposure at the right time and that we can the right voice for it," Soderlund said. "Right now we're focused on our big titles for [October through December]."
"And when that's done, we'll shift to 'Mass Effect'," he added. "You'll see a lot more very shortly."
So when will we see more of "Mass Effect: Andromeda"? Chances are we won't be getting anything new until sometime in November.
A quick look at the Electronic Arts' website will show its upcoming games for this year, and its latest title to be released would be another huge title "Titanfall 2." The shooter will not be out until Oct. 28, so EA should be able to focus on "Mass Effect: Andromeda" shortly after its launch.
With the publisher targeting a Q1 2017 release date for the new "Mass Effect" title, fans are concerned that the game will still not be finished in time. Soderlund assured them that this is definitely not the case.
"I get people want to see gameplay and I just came back from a short vacation and I played through the first three hours of the game," Soderlund said. "It's very playable, and there is no alarm about, 'Why aren't they showing it?'"
Stay tuned for future "Mass Effect: Andromeda" updates. In the meantime, you can relive the E3 experience by watching the trailer below.
